Águilas has one of Spain's great fiestas. Its Carnaval — declared a Festival of International Tourist Interest, the third in Spain to earn the title after Tenerife and Cádiz — takes over the whole town each February with a riot of costumed peñas, satirical Don Carnal and Doña Cuaresma, the mischievous Cascamorras and famously flamboyant, feathered parades. In 2027 the theme is 'El Bosque Encantado'.
The rest of the year runs on the sea: summer beach days and boat trips, the July Virgen del Carmen by the fishermen's port, open-air nights along the promenade, and the Christmas lights and Three Kings parade in winter. This page keeps the coming days — tonight, this weekend and the week ahead — in one place, updated as events are confirmed.
