Mijas keeps three calendars — one for each of its centres. Mijas Pueblo has the free flamenco show in the main square every Wednesday at noon, intimate Holy Week processions through the white streets, and its feria in honour of the Virgen de la Peña in the second week of September. La Cala de Mijas has San Juan bonfires on the beach, the Virgen del Carmen in July and its own summer fair later the same month.
