La Cala's main weekly market every Wednesday at the market ground on the edge of the village — over a hundred stalls of clothes, fresh produce, bags and household goods, 9am–2pm. (Las Lagunas has its own market on Saturdays at the Mijas fairground.)

Markets set up early and start packing away around lunchtime, so go early for the best choice and an easier parking space. They can be cancelled or moved when the fairground hosts the town's feria, and on some public holidays.
