Los Alcázares runs on the water and the summer. Its big fixture is the Semana Internacional de la Huerta y el Mar each August — a week of folk-dance troupes from around the world, concerts, craft stalls and ventorrillos serving Murcian food on the festival grounds. Through the warmer months the calm Mar Menor also hosts a full season of sailing and watersports regattas.

Calle de los Catalanes, Los Alcázares
Los Alcázares' weekly street market every Tuesday morning around Calle de los Catalanes — fresh produce, clothes and household goods, 8am–2:30pm. (A second market runs Saturdays in Los Narejos.)
Los Alcázares' biggest festival — an 'International Week of the Orchard and the Sea' each August (roughly 14–24), celebrating Murcia's roots with international folk-dance groups, concerts, craft exhibitions and ventorrillos (food stalls) serving regional cuisine on the festival grounds.
The main weekly market is on Tuesday mornings around Calle de los Catalanes (roughly 8am–2:30pm), with a second market on Saturdays in the Los Narejos district.
The calm, shallow Mar Menor is ideal for sailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, wingfoiling and paddleboarding, with schools based at the new Playa Náutica de Las Salinas — and the town hosts major sailing competitions through the season.
It's quieter out of the summer season — the Tuesday market, the Christmas lights and market, and the Three Kings parade on 5 January.
