The Costa Cálida is the quieter end of Spanish golf, and most of its courses are modern resorts spread across the flat land inland from the Mar Menor. Several carry the Nicklaus name, including El Valle, La Torre, Saurines de la Torre and Alhama Signature. La Manga Club is the exception and the headline act: three 18-hole courses around a resort in the hills behind La Manga.
Los Alcázares makes a practical base, with Serena Golf on its edge and a run of courses within a short drive, some of them just over the Costa Blanca border. Further west the choice thins out: Mazarrón has Camposol and Alhama Signature within reach, and Águilas is closest to Aguilón, over the Almería border.
