Privacy & Cookies
The short version: CostaRosta runs on a couple of essential cookies, and nothing else unless you say yes.
Cookies we use
Essential (always on)
- Security — an anti-forgery token that protects forms (like "Add your event") from misuse.
- Sign-in — if you're a staff member signing in to the moderation area, a session cookie keeps you logged in.
- Your cookie choice — we remember the choice you make below so we don't ask again.
These are strictly necessary for the site to work, so they don't need consent.
Optional (only with your consent)
If you choose Accept all, we load Google Analytics (a Google service) to understand which pages and towns are useful, so we can improve the guide. It sets its own cookies and shares anonymised usage data with Google. We don't sell your data. Choose Essential only and none of these are set — Google Analytics never loads.
You can change your mind any time by clearing your cookies for this site, which brings the banner back.
Our own analytics (no cookies)
Separately, we keep a simple, anonymous count of page views on our own server — no cookies, no IP addresses, no personal data. It runs whether or not you accept cookies, because there's nothing about you to track.
Affiliate links
Some of the "things to do" on the site are booked through partners such as GetYourGuide. If you book an activity through one of those, we may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. We only surface real, bookable experiences, and a commission never changes what we choose to show you. The booking widgets load only if you've accepted optional cookies.
Submitting an event
If you submit an event, we keep the details you provide (including any name and email) so we can review the listing and, if needed, get in touch about it. We don't publish your contact details.
